Hey everyone, its Maxi Rodiguez, one of Argentina's midfielders. We have had an excellent time in South Africa so far, winning our first game against Nigeria 1-0. South Africa is definitely an excellent place to hold the World Cup, but I remember learning that in the 1990's apartheid, or a racial segregation against all non-whites, was in full effect here. When I finally got to South Africa, I was definitely expecting to see traces of that extremely devistating period in their national history, but, in fact there was almost no apparent signs of segregation in the country, which amazed me. Both black and whites were together with no apparent problems arising in the slightest. As many know, a man named Nelson Mandela became president of the country in 1994, he turned the countries racist beliefs around, and unified South Africa, making him the most influential leader in the countries history. It was amazing that even after he left office, the people did not revert to their old beliefs, and they were able to keep his vision of what the country could be alive.

Whats up guys? It's me Javier Mascherano. I just wanted to say that im so excited to be team captain this year. Its my first year that i am captain. Since I am the captain of team Argentina. This makes me the youngest player to be the captain of Argentina. I really appreciate the honor of being named captain. In River Plate i wasted little time establishing my self as a first team all team fixture. And as a fan favorite. In River Plate I inherited the the nickname El Jefecito. Which means (The Little Boss)

Now there is only three more days till our first game in the world cup. I can't wait and am supper excited.

Hey guys, its Lionel Messi from the Argentina national team. Im currently in South Africa waiting for my world cup debut in 10 days from now. Our first game is on June 12 against a strong Nigeria team. Thank you for all the support that has been given to us especially in the days leading up to the world cup, this is when we need it most. We are thankful for our loyal fans that always believe in us. We want to make sure to bring the world cup home for you guys. We have big expectations for the team this year and feel we will be able to compete at the highest level with the best teams in the tournament. We are confident about the group we were put into and think that we have serious potential to compete for the world cup. If we end up winning the world cup we know that when we come home people will be going crazy and everyone will be so exited we were able to win over an extraordinary group of 32 nations. If we loose, when we come back home we know that you guys will all be very disappointed because this is the team to win it with and we have such a great team this year. Hopefully this does not happen and we can make it very far in the tournament, if not win it all. We have so much of pressure to do great and beat every team we face, we hope that you wish us luck.

The Argentine National team was accepted to the World Cup round of 32 in South Africa this year after defeating Uruguay 1-0 in Montevideo, the capital of Argentina. Deciding the team for coach Maradona was hard with a huge pool of players to choose from. The final squad could be called a star-studded one that consists of players that are all on elite teams in the EPL and Europa league. The players include Lionel Messi (Barcenlona FC) Diego Miloto (Internazionale FC) and Carlos Tevez (Manchester City). Lionel Messi could be called the best player world after his display in the UEFA champions league scoring a total of 11 goals. In the group play Argentina will be playing the Greece, Nigeria, and Korea National Teams; all of which they have beat multiple times before. So far I have optimistic hopes for the Argentine National team that they will make it far in the World Cup, but sadly I have to say they will either loose to England in the Quarters or loose to Spain in the Semi-finals. No matter what happens it will be hard to win. What do you think will happen?
