Whats up guys? It's me Javier Mascherano. I just wanted to say that im so excited to be team captain this year. Its my first year that i am captain. Since I am the captain of team Argentina. This makes me the youngest player to be the captain of Argentina. I really appreciate the honor of being named captain. In River Plate i wasted little time establishing my self as a first team all team fixture. And as a fan favorite. In River Plate I inherited the the nickname El Jefecito. Which means (The Little Boss)

Now there is only three more days till our first game in the world cup. I can't wait and am supper excited.

  1. the first game is going to be great argentina is going to destroy nigeria. Most of the nigerian players are really bad at soccer looking at the world cup rankings. argentina is going to have no problem with them. I also think that later suscess is going to rely on the caption javier he needs to push the team. I don't know if he can do it seeing as he is so young of a player but if he can argentina will pe in good shape

  2. Javier will have to lead his team through a lot of conflicts and surprises; whether it be the knock out rounds later on, the pressure from the fans, or the coaching staff. Being the captain of the Argentine National team makes him the catalyst between Lionel Messi and manager: Maradona igniting the right relationships and playing styles. Javier might have to take more on his shoulders than most captains with Maradona being more on the dangerous and fickle side of a player to coach. Javier will be another key component to the play this World Cup. I hope all of our predictions and thoughts on the team and group play come true as the Games begin in less than 24 hours.

  3. I definately agree with Dylan, Javier needs to deal with many of the conflicts that will arise with his team playing some potentially difficult opponents. This has to put a huge amount of stress on him as he, along with the coach, are basically representing the team in the largest competition in the world, and they could either become stars in the world of soccer, or go home and their country would not be pleased with them. I am confident they can deal with this pressure, though, and get the team to a decent placing in the cup, if not the finals.

  4. I agree, Argentina will have no problem with Nigeria, but the whole team isn't bad at soccer, after all they made it to the world cup. Javier is team captain this year, I think he is going to do a good job being a facilitator and leading his team to a victory against their first opponent Nigeria. Cant wait to see what they have in store for the first day of the world cup.
